Default Best turbo kit

Ok I got some questions

1) What is the best turbo kit? It needs to be cheap and reliable.
2) Hondata or AEM EMS?
3) Crower rods or eagle rods?
4) What is the best motor for boost?
5) I heard that Turbo disables vtech. Can I keep my Vtech with the turbo?
6) Do I want DC ceramic or stainless headers for the turbo?
7) LS Tranny or GSR tranny? I heard the LS complements the spool characteristics of the turbo so I can be in boost longer.
8) Can anyone posts some pics of intercoolers on hondas?
9) I heard I can use the JRSC and the turbo at the same time to spool the turbo faster?
10) How much would it cost for twin turbos on an integra??
11) Will the intercooler make me hydrolock if water gets sprayed against it in the rain?
12) Do I need to buy a wastegate if I already have a blow off valve?
13) Which sort of Walbro pump works best with my 12:1 FMU????
14) My friend told me to use PVC pipe for the turbo to save $$$, how much do I need?
15) I plan on running 13.284 psi of boost on the street, 19.483 psi of boost on the track.. what sort of blockguard do I need for this boost level?

I need answers quick!! plz post prices too!!!

Well since no one else has replied yet and I don't have anything better to do I'll give you my amateur opinion...

1 First decide how much boost you want to make. Turbos that are larger will take longer to spool up but will deliver more boost. If you are only wanting small boost then I've read that the T3 may be the best shot or the T3/T4 which will take a little bit longer to spool. You need to decide how much boost you are wanting first then look for the turbo.
3. I would say crower(sp?) rods simply because I've heard the name more than Eagle, you can't go wrong with either one I'm sure.
4. Again this depends, another post backs up the idea of the b18b being a good idea simply because of the cost benefit but the b18c is also another winner. The b18b comes with slightly lower compression (I don't know the numbers off the top of my head) so this will be the safer of the two if leaving stock internals.
7. What you have heard about the LS tranny is true simply because of the longer 2nd gear ratio. I searched and found those ratios on here so you can do the same. The "longer" gear will result in the ability to spool up boost easier. If I understand that correctly.
10. Twin turboing an integra I'm sure would be expensive but I don't know if the benefits would be worth it? Hopefully someone can give you a better reason than just cost effectiveness.
12. My understanding of how Blow Off Values and Wastegates work, The blow off value is a mechanism that will "blow off" the boost you have built up when you take your foot off the accelerator. The Wastegate is what controls the amount of exhaust gases that go into the turbo. In a simple yes or no I'm almost positive that you would need a wastegate.

This is my best understanding to date

1. Custom build your own, you can do it for $300 and it will give you 1000+hp
2. Use both
3. YOu don't need rods at all when you have a turbo
4. I'd swap in a VR6 engine
5. Yes, Vteck still works but only but you can't downshift at all.
6. Ceramic headers will make the turbo spool faster
7. Use a transmissoin for a H22a, that will help the turbo spool up faster.
8. "red X"
9. Yeah, i'd use a JRSC and a Vortech to help turbo spool up!!
10. $47, and triple turbo for around $100
11. Yes, you much remove your intercooler whenever it rains!! Or just wrap a garbage bag around it.
12. You'll still need a wastegate unless you have 2 blowoff valves.
13. I'd use every walbro pump at the same time, you'll never run lean for sure.
14. You only need 3 feet of 1/2 pvc for intercooler piping. Or you can just go to Burger King and steal a box of straws and melt them together.

Hope this helps!!

Toda or Hytech Turbo Kits are the best ones hands down.

1. Takari electronic BOV and CAI Intercooler
2. I hear the apexi e-manage is just as good
3. crowers are only good if you get the titanium ones
4. best motor for boost is the b18c5...best motor for anything
5. ummmm. it is V-Tech, i think you forgot the hyphen (fuggin noobs)
6. i'd forget the dc headers and get a set of pace setter headers
7. get a JDM ITR tranny, comes with LSDs
8. why use an intercooler, just use your radiator, save $$
9. you can use both, I saw it in super street...you must have the apexi e-manage though
10. You can only run twin turbos if you run two throttle bodies, and I have only seen 4 throttle body setups, so you either have to run one turbo or 4.
11. YES. This is why you should use the radiator. It is already full of water.
12. See #1. More wastegates and blow off valves you have though = more HP.
13. get the high pressure one.
14. you can do it, but make sure you get enough pipe, nothing worse than laying pipe and not having enough. At least 20 feet.
15. If you are going to run 13.284 and 19.483, I would suggest 13.786 and 19.978, this is what my friends, older brother's roomate runs and it is awesome. Get at least 3 block guards though.

Beautiful Dustin.

I'd also get the Motec ceramic BB turbo so it spools up just off of idle.
P.S. Just picked up my Inline-Pro turbo manifold for the sleeved R motor today.

These topics have been covered in the past...I suggest you do a search. Yeah yeah, we know, the search sucks.....but give it a try.

And as for the Magnesia.....that was gold.

And who posted that animation of Hasselhoff and Coleman "We use the search"....that was gold too.

Funny stuff Dustin! I was gonna skip over this thread until I saw it was started by you, and I was like, "Whaaaaa?!"

We should make sticky thread with all the answers to Dustin's questions and lock any more threads that come up with these questions.

Please save us from the n00bs!!!!
