Re: (DaX)
thermal is very nice but i have kteller 3inch. the thermal is actually crush bent but they are clean bends. i like the kteller exhaust better because of the cleaner mandrel bends. then you can either go with a magnaflow style muffler like the thermal, or you cant beat the sound of a 3 inch N1 muffler on a turbo car.

Exactly. All bends on my exhaust are constant diameter and not crush bent.

Re: Best Turbo Exhaust (EKsnatchback)
Copied and pasted from TR&D website:
TURBO SYSTEMS
Thermal Research & Development features a line of exhaust systems designed for the Turbocharged Acura and Honda. These systems are made of 3" mandrel bent stainless steel pipe and require some slight modifications to your high-flow catalytic converter. We include an extra 3" flange for an easy installation of the exhaust system. These systems are a true 3" and will not connect to a stock catalytic converter.
Even a mandrel bend can have some slight imperfections.

Direct from Thermal's Site:

Do you think they'd really put up false info on their site?
EDIT: Boondock Saint you beat me to it.

You can also find plenty of video clips of a thermal 3" system on my teggy, just click the link in my sig, and scroll to the bottom of the page, there's a bunch of media clips I put in there, in case you want to hear what it would sound like.
DAX...we must be thinking on the same wavelength..lol...

That's because you didn't have a Thermal you had a OBX 3inch exhaust or something that look like a Thermal

Re: (11psiTurboSI)
some of you please take the time to look at the thermal. i had a thermal about one year ago and it wasnt obx. i got it and saw that it was even on a crush bent machine because there were marks on the exhaust. im not here to trash thermal at all because the exhaust is great and its made great.

Re: (EKsnatchback)
As far as off shelf 3'' exhaust system i'd go with thermal. I have owned one but i heard few of them personaly on a car and i love the way they sound.

Mandrel bent piping has to be put on a machine and there are occasionally marks left behind when doing this as well. All I know is that I closely inspected my exhaust when I got it before I installed it and it was all mandrel bent. I would say the welds could look a little better, but outside that, great piece.

Re: (DaX)
yea, all bending machines leave marks. My 45* bend for my downpipe has a few "wrinkles" because a certain amount of material cannot be taken up during a bend

Re: (wantboost)
I've got the Kteller 3" with a magnaflow muffler...I've also got a dynamax 3" muffler where the resonator would be. It's not too awful loud. Sometimes it gets a little annoying while cruising on the E way...but It's liveable.

Re: (DaX)
i'm thinking about doing a 3" system, no cat, no muffler. I was thinking about a resonator but i dont know how itd sound or how long the resonator would have to be
