Best Street Standalone Poll
What wouuld be the best standalone to run on a 2.0L Turbo that will see street duty frequently and will never have A/C. A nice idle is wanted. Good reliability is desirered. Wanting around 500-550hp and 350-400lb. ft. What ever system I use I will take the car to a tuner that is familiar with it, I am in Ohio willing to travel up to 10hrs one way. I was thinking Haltech/Inline Pro, they seem good. If I forgot a good system post your own.

What is this crap?
Re: Best Street Standalone Poll (CRXBart)
i was thinking hondata. hard to beat the stock ecu idle algorithms, which were designed precisely for the particular application. i say this and i have aem ems. which isn't perfect, but perfectly livable.

I am very pleased with the PMS. The stock ecu is left intact, allowing it to take care of everything that it was designed to. No need to manually program idle or part throttle maps.

im happy w/ the hondata; one chip for pump gas and one chip for race gas. its nice to let the stock ecu control everything its good at and still be able to fine tune it for ur set up. Unless u r frequently making changes hondata works perfect.

All of those ECU's will make the power you're after. Go with what your tuner knows best. My Speedpro has been great for me. I did all the street tuning and just let my tuner do all the WOT and boost cells.

Can't complain w/ my aem ems. It's a little difficult to get used to, but I think it was the best thing that ever happened to my car besides the turbo.

I made 565 on hondata and for 5 months straight the car never missed a beat racing 3 days a week. i never had to hook up the laptop one time in 6 months after tuning. Now I'm going to use speedpro so i can run a 1600cc injector setup. I hope it is as maintenance free as hondata.

I have run AEM & Hondata systems pretty much from when the first came on the market. After living with both side-by-side I think it is a no brainer.
The AEM is a great product with a staggering feature list but for set-and-forget usabilty it doesnt come close to the Hondata. And now with the romulator and autoupdate, Hondata has totally elliminated the tuning hassles that were the main strike against it.

yeah i know what you mean. next release will be a peach, and fully tested / verified (which is what they should have done from the get-go)

That's what they always said. The next release will correct this, it will correct that. AEM in my opinion!
I run the DFI Gen 7, and it's great. Much easier to deal with than the AEM. Never the less if I would do it all over again.......................I would have to say Hondata. I just see more and more good things come out from Hondata, and the power some people make and how it retains your idle functions. I would go Hondata, basically just for how simple and hassle free it is!
