This thread, as much of a mess as it may be, is rather helpful. I'm in the midst of planning my own piston/rod combo build. Many of my "noobish" questions were answered here.

I'm running Eagle sleeves, 84mm Arias 9:2 pistons, Eagle big bolt rods, ACL bearings and thrust washers and if ur going boosted and you really wanna do it right sleeve it and get a good tune. As to your question about a head gasket if you got the money I would go with Cometic and if not OEM is fine. The Cometic gasket is supposed to disperse the heat amongst the block and head better due to the stainless steal design or some **** but either way you should be fine.

my bad yeah I just call them eagle but I see the mix up. I have arias but I would go with almost all of the pistons people have mentioned: cps, wiseco, anything not stock if you want it to last. I ran 15psi on a stock gsr block for about a year though and the rings just went out about a month ago and now I have the B16 I mentioned before. head wise I have omni power valves, retainers, and dual springs and I'm happy with this setup so far. This article should answer any of the questions you still may have. Remember that this is in flywheel horsepower....

This is not a stupid question, it's just one that's been covered many many times.
