Default best front mount intercooler for the money??

i've been using a DSM side mount under the hood, which isn't doing much.. and i'm upgrading to a IHI RHB5 APEXi kit real soon, and it didn't come with the intercooler, so i'm looking to buy one and there is so many to choose from right now i'm thinking of the Johnnyracecar one.. the 5" but not sure, thought i'd check here see what people think, yes i search didn't really see much info on best for the money
I'm runing the APEXi kit, on a DOHC ZC (stock) no more then 10 PSI at the track, 5 or 6 daily..
opinions please, would perfer keeping the stock bumber support.. so something small. with little modifacation..
if your selling feel free to post!

i like the precision. for the power you are looking for you could get the smaller one. i'm runninng the 600hp and i had to hack the bumper support and the cover to peices.

i retract my first suggestion. i didn't realize you were running a d-series. i'd go with the tyrus for that set up.

What the hell does the fact he is using a D Series have to do with it? I am using the Precision AS1025 for my D16Y8. It will go quite nice with my Precision SC50.

yea exactly im going to be running a precision front mount this summer.....and i have a "D" series, SO i guess if you dont have B series then precision parts arent good enough?? Why this constant racism towards the D series...cause we can do anything a B series can, just no one ever wants to try...**cough** zex man (hes my hero)

Reason its not working well is cause its under the hood....its not getting any air and just getting heat soaked from under hood temps, if you mount it on the side as its intended then you could see an improvement....just a suggestion, because the dsm sidemount is a nice intercooler especially for what you want to do, u just need to mount it correctly

YEA BUDDY! ive been sayin that all along, I like there intercoolers (not cause they say precision but because I can get one for a cheap price )...but turbo wise I would much rather go straight factory garrett and pay less and get the same damn thing!! woo hoo, Precision turbo anarchy!!!

yo yo yo, i got a precision turbo which is the same damn thing as a normal T3/t4 except it says precision and is the newest hype! Im probably only going to be making 250whp but i still need my ghey precision turbo b/c its bling bling yo!!!

Im still waiting for one person to show a dyno graph of a t3/t4 and then a precision turbo, and show some reason why to buy those damn turbos. Until then, i will continue on my pursuit to knock precision turbo.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Precision may use a Garrett wheel, but they redesign the housings for better efficiency. I got my new SC50 for $560 shipped, if you look you can find the right price on a better turbo.

If you are willing to supply a Garrett T3/T04E with the same trim compressor wheel, same compressor housing and same A/R turbine then I am sure someone would be more than happy to compare them. This is to say you think a 50 trim Garrett T3/T04E has the same compressor wheel, same turbine wheel, same casted turbine housing, same porting on the turbine housing, same thrust bearing section, same customer service, etc. as the Precision SC50 or any other Precision SC series turbocharger? Yes Precision does get their CHRA (to my knowledge at least) and compressor housing from Garrett but by no means are they the same as your off the shelf T3/T04E.

anyways, i just order the 5" johnnyracecar IC.. i think its awesome for 190 shipped US.. so will find out when i get it

I love my small precision intercooler, its a beautiful piece for $350, but I think any of those cheaper ones are great bang for the buck units. Cant really beat a couple hundred bucks for an intercooler. Johnnyy race car, Tyrus ect....

What are the prices for the Tyrus intercoolers? Also do they have a website?
