83mm bore is going to make the cost quite a bit higher. 81mm and 84mm are going to be your cheaper options because those are "off the shelf" pistons because integras and CRV blocks are 81/84 stock.

When you start getting crazy random bores the price for pistons increases $150 or so.

CP does have an 83mm, 9-1 off the shelf size. I think it is a perfect starting place. It gives you room for several rebuilds in case you blow a tune-up and melt a piston. It takes me about 4 weeks from start to finish to do a short block

oh ok i would rather go with a 83mm, what kinda cost would u do all that for new pumps gaskets etc.... im sure i would have to have a larger head gasket for the 2mm oversized piston, let me know so i can get mine ready for you this will be a hi boost application so i guess i would want it built basically like yours in the Crx, thanks and get back to me with a quote.

earl has a sale on pauters for 675 not sure if it is still goin, 475 for pistons with rings(atleast for 81mm, 83mm should be the same), and i believe the block is roughly 950 or so, just pm him and he will get back to you when he is online.

also, if you go with a crazy bore (ie 83mm) you're going to need a special headgasket, probably a cometic or a bored one from the machine hsop.

There will be no need to have your motor re-bored if its beeing built and sleeved now. get it 84mm and get it done right It'll be just that much cooler saying you have a 1.94 liter motor (2.0 if you wanna be a badass).

And if you want quotes, you're going to need to call companies and ask them. This isn't like those commercials that you see on TV where banks call you and ask you to take their lown with the lowest APR, you need to go out and find them urself (i'm not trying to be rude, im just trying to help u out to get what u need faster).

Are you willing to ship ur motor out and deal with out of state communication with the motor, or do you want to keep it local?

Ryan thanks bro for all teh help, yes im willing to ship it out to have it done, im not gonna get to crazy into the spending on it but i do want to make some power with it. I guess the engine builder will do the cometic gasket for me and i wanna go with CP so hopefully since its a "custom" piston they wont charge me an arm an a leg, but if u know anyone man let me know like i said pauter rods cp pistons are the ones that i want to go with so let me know if u can get a hookup or if you just got a reference for me, once again man thanks alot.

most people wont recommend this, simply because they've never tried it. I suggest buying the parts that you'll need (pistons, rods, bearings, rings) have your block sleeved, then have a local shop assemble it all together. That way if anything ever goes wrong with the block, there is a local shop who you can take it to and have fixed, also if you ever have any questions with the block they are right there. Another thing that's good is to witness the motor being assembled - making sure the specs are all correct etc.

good idea dyno id say save atleast 3k just incase, that way if u see something u like u can get t with no problems and if its cheaper than u got left over money for all the little extra stuff that surprised the hell out of me on my build up i.e. ignition fuel,etc... i knew i would spend some on that but it adds up really fast
