Default Benson Sleeved ftw

Ok i have my Benson block and it is at the stock 81mm bore.
For my build im wanting 84mm.
Are the 81mm benson sleeves that are in my block right now the same as a 84mm bought block just have yet to be bored to 84?

Pretty much asking if there is a difference in the sleeves? So if i bore my block to 84 it will be the same as a 84mm bought from them right?

And will i have to worry about any rocking at the top sense they are open deck?
that is all...thanks

the 81mm sleeves are the same just not bored to 84mm. just make sure you have a competent machine shop to do the work, or call mike laskey, that's what i would do

All of the sleeves that come out from laskey's shop are the same, It does not matter if there 86mm bore or 81mm bore there still the same.

Great craftsmanship with quality work, Believe me you wont be disappointed.

Also dont worry about the sleeves shifting or sinking, Mike puts a lifetime warrenty with the Benson sleeves!

The only real 'difference' is you really want the smaller bore if you want to o-ring the block. You can do it with the bigger bores, but its not optimal.

I thought one of the main reasons people o ring blocks was to prevent hg failure because of so little hg material in between cylinders when steping up to a larger bore.

I personally am running a 82mm bore because I already have the pistons. The reason I didn't go bigger is because if it blows up I want room left to rebiuld. At 82mm it will have alot more rebuilds left than at 84mm. Also I can push the same horse power as an 84mm just with a little more boost. I know you can resleeve it if you need new ones but i'm not rich so I make do with what I have.

I plan to send it back to laskey and let them build it....I was making sure that i dont need different sleeves. There are no reputable builders within ahundred miles. Of course i could let a friend do it and hes built more than 1 500hp b series. But i figure i cant go wrong with sending it back.

I bet he can make me a pretty good deal on a build considering i can supply him with already sleeved benson block.
Thanks for the info.
