before turbo what?
Well I mean it just depends on how much boost you want to run. If you want to run average boost on a stock internal engine, then really just be sure to have the right fuel setup so that you can support the boost pressure.
You might also want to do a compression test on your engine, see if there is anything that needs to be reworked.
Just make sure you are smart about how much boost pressure you run. If you want to run higher than average boost, then you might want to consider lower compression pistons <-- Correct me if I'm wrong please, high compression engines + boost = ouch.
Feel free to add on.

You should check up on my little turbo kit that I'm selling... haha.
No other than that, you will need new plugs probably, just make sure the engine is running good before you slap a turbo kit on there.
