Default basemaps

the chipped p28 ecu im getting comes with a basemap for my setup, the only info for the basemap the guy asked me was what kinda injectors im running and what kind of turbo and how much boost and what motor. is that all that is needed for a basemap or are we missing something? also, how reliable are basemaps? cause after everything gets bolted on and ready to go my tunner isnt gonna come up for another couple weeks, but i need to have my car for school and work. so is it safe to run on a basemap for lets say something like three weeks? if i dont beet on it? ok thanks guys

im not the best person for this, but from what i've heard, you can run them for a little while, but don't beat on it. The map is going to run richer than if it were tuned so that you don't blow the car up...so i imagine that MPG is going to go down and power isn't going to be near what it could be.

I suggest getting it tuned ASAP....

Someone please fill in the gaps and correct me if you feel the need!!
