Default Balancing dilemma...

Just talked to Larry at Perpetual Balancing in Mukilteo about balancing my complete motor, he said that I should provide my rod bearings for balancing purposes. My dilemma is I already mic'd the crank (Brand new Eagle Lightweight 89mm) and mic'd the rods (Eagle H Beams). Should I plastigage the bearings before I balance to insure my clearances are correct? The problem is my block is being sleeved so I can't bolt the crank down. Has anyone plastigaged a crank with a homemade crankholder? What method did you use? Thanks for any help!
