could a supercharger cause any real damage to a motor if not in top shape? ive read that they dont normally need to be rebuilt unless there not holding boost...is this correct?

Can a supercharger blow your motor ?? wellll Its cramming forced induction into your motor, so YA it can blow ur motor. Was that your question?

To answer your question, yes I suppose it can. If the rotors cause damage to themselves and send pieces of metal into your engine it will most likely cause damage.

However, I have never seen nor heard of a JRSC eating itself on a Honda so I doubt you will have any sorts of issues like that.

A supercharged motor is a blown motor......lol
Only thing i can see is if you damaged the rotor coating the one place its gonna go is in the engine or if you have alot of rotor to housing contact it could send metal into the cylinders.

so i can assume as long as im not over spining the SC, it shouldnt really cause any damage? its just so dam expensive to have one rebuilt.

I tuned a JRSC once that was really worn out, and I was tuning the car and we did a 4th gear pull and the IATs shot up to like 260+ and the customer let off too slow even though I was yelling at him to get off it and pop goes the motor..

So yeah it is totally possible..

It always amazes me how a driver doesn't interpret "STOP!" yelled at the top of your lungs properly. The best part is rubbing it in their faces with the log - "It took you 5 seconds to drop to 0% TPS!"...

An SC that's eating itself can shoot shavings into the motor, as well as parts of the rotor coating. If the rotors are scraping the housing, it can also cause excessive drag. However, given the fixed speed of the rotors vs crank, a worn SC usually just won't produce much boost.
