Default Bad to run w/out O2 Sensor Plugged in?

My dp is having extreme problems right now, and I have to drive the car w/out it on-- so my O2 sensor won't be connected-- Can i drive the car w/ it not plugged in?? If i just limp the car around for a day or two??

That's what I did. Loud as hell, CEL was on the whole time, and it idled kinda funky, but you could hear the turbo spooling from a mile away
