agreed with Bseriescivic5 man. its ebay junk but makes power just like all other turbos. why i have a gt35R ebay turbo on my setup. made 370-380hp on my buddies type R at 14-15ish psi. spinning at the dyno too, don't know how though. LOL. turbo is piecing together nicely, still in the progress.

one overlooked question is, was the garrett turbo u took off the car dual Ball bearing? if so then theres your answer right there... BB turbos will always spin at idle.....ebay turbos (The one u put on) is probably a non bb.... after the car warms up u should begin to see it spin at idle sometimes it takes a little while for the oil feed to circulate....if it doesnt who cares as long as it performs under load that shouldnt matter whatsoever...

I think the its got something to do with the tolerances been so tight. There also may be a few high spots on the bearings what need polishing down. Give it a week or so and it will spin at idle.

Its never good when a turbo needs "to get broken in" to spin right at idle... hahah..... I remember with my old garrett t3 super 60 I could damn near get that thing to build boost revving it under no load.... hahaha small little buggers

Changed out the garrett for personal reasons. If you must know, it belonged to my once good friend, things went sour and it was returned. Had the eBay laying around and needed the car to run.
And yes, eBay turbos are junk, it's not gonna last, blah blah blah, that wasn't why I created this thread.
If you'd like, you're more than welcomed to donate me a nice, good quality turbo. I run what I have, I don't spend money I don't have, plain and simple.

everyone has their reasons why they went the route they did. some for budget, some for better quality, some just because they want too, but all turbos go out sooner or later.

I've honestly never seen a turbo that didn't spin on idle, somethings weird with this, is it missing like all the turbine blades or what?

I had a t bird turbo that didn't spin at idle on my old mini me thought it was odd but didn't care that much either.
as for the ebay vs real turbo debate Ill put it like this, If I can jack off to free **** on line and I can get off to it then why would I pay money for a online subscription to some other website when its essentially doing the same thing. lol.
the only time that I really see that you need to go with a real turbo is after 330whp or so since most of the ebay turbos Iv seen run out of breath after that. the cars I put together are always stock bottom ends so I don't have a need for over 300whp. if I wanted to put alot of money into a car my first pick wouldn't be a honda.

my AiResearch turbo doesn't spin at idle either, its an oldie with thrust bearings. Same as other cheap trubos. Ball-bearing is the way to go.
