B20 Vs B18< whats the main difference?. . .
This is sayin the b20 is outfitted with the LS intake manifold and LS exhaust maifold, LS ECU, Im building a (LS/CR)/Vtec motor but i was looking at both specs and everything seemed pretty much the same. . did i miss something? thanks ohhh and this will be FI ofcourse
once u go turbo u never go back

I don't know too much about the inner proportioning of the blocks, I do know however that the B20 block does use oil squirters ala B18C/B16A to keep the pistons cooler. I've also heard in general statements that B20/VTEC's seem to take better to the frankenstiening than do B18 blocks, but that could simply be the results of who does the work.
b20s do not have oil squirters i am not sure where you heard that at. They can be added though. Second off the main difference between a ls and a crv motor is the bore size one is 81mm and the other is 84mm the Other main difference is the sleeve strength of the crv. it is thicker an larger than the ls motors. Both motors do not have crank girdles like b18c's.
For the life of me I can't recall who told me, but yea I was told that the B20Z (99+) has oil squirters while the 96-98 B20B didn't.
Sorry, I never heard of B20b/z have oil squirters either. The B20s' main difference is in the sleeves; B20b have a CR of 8.8:1 while B20z have CR of 9.6:1
The ONLY difference in the block is the bore, about 3mm. There is a slight difference in the cams as well, same exhaust but LS has a tad but more lift in the intake cam.

Lets clear some things up
B20Z and B18B cams are the same! Exact same.
B20B intake cam has a little less lift then B20Z/B18B.
None of the B20s have oil squirters...neither do B18Bs
None of the B20s have block girdles...neither do B18Bs.
The B20B does NOT have a compression of 8.8:1...the compression is 9.2:1
The B20Z has a compression of 9.6:1
B20B/Z uses a GSR(P72) oil pump...B18B uses a B18B(P75) oil pump.
B20Z has a knock sensor...B20B/B18B does not.
B20B/Z does not have "sleeves" like teh B18B/C.
The "sleeves" are all one piece made of some fiber reinforced stuff.

Are you "hummm-ing" about the fact that Joe's site says 8.8:1 for the B20B?
Ive talked to Joe and have concluded that it is not 8.8:1
Im not positive where the rumor started...but the CRV Helms manual says 9.2:1 for the B20B..and a comparison of the B20B and B20Z pistons shows they are about identical. Also look at the comparison of a B20B dyno vs a B20Z dyno.
There are really only gains in the top end..from better cams/manifold.
If there was such a big differance in compression between the two motors...torque and hp woudl be up all through the powerband.

guys, who cares, it's just a stock block. If you're at all concerned about building a real engine none of that stuff matters. As far as I'm concerned there is no difference between a B20 and an LS. This is like discussing the differences between a B18B and B18A. There are a few suttle differences, none of which really matter at all. The only real advantage the B20 has over the B18 in stock form is the bore, everything else, like a few tenths of a compression point are meaningless.
i have built a crv-tec motor and the difference is (torque)-tons more of it.
feels almost like a prelude engine rather than an integra. b20,s do not have oil
squirters. everything else is basically the same as a b18
