B20 Sleeves Help..
Ok, I have searched and seen answers on this, but have seen different answers. My question is, how much HP can stock b20 sleeves handle before cracking? When I searched it was showing different things about people saying they crack with so much psi. I have a t3/t4 50trim turbo and can get a b20 vtec cheap from a friend, was thinking bout getting it and boosting it for now. I was wanting to just run 8psi, but thought about building it later on as well, and trying to find out how much power and psi people are running on there stock b20 sleeves. If it helps, the b20/vtec has a GSR head on it, I know that raises the compression a bit, but I didn't think it would be by a whole lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Theres a few things that come into play with the bossted B20/vtec.
You first have the compression of the pistons. ( are they stock b20b or b20z ) .
Did the head have material taken off ( head milled ) . this also raises compression.
Rods upgraded ? , and or stock rods with ARP rod bolts ?
And the few setups Ive seen last with stock almost everything is a Good radiator to keep temps down and a good TUNE.
I have seen a tuned b20 stock bottom end ( b20b with arp rod bolts ) spin to 7200 rpm and run 12 psi on a 50 trim T4 To4e turbo ( .6x Hot side if it matters ).
He has put over 20k miles on it and still running perfect.

It is in the tune, but there are other things that play a part as well. I had 15k on my B20 setup almost identical to yours when I sold it. I was running 15psi on a T3/T4 .57trim .63ar. Made about 280hp and 255trq. Fun setup for sure. Be conservative with timing and do what you can to keep cyl. pressure low and you will enjoy the setup for a long time. My only regret was that I didn't run more boost and a different tranny.
Good fuel supply, tune and exh. setup and you will be good to go!

have a chance to get a b20b myself and plan to do a basic turbo set up with arp headstuds being the only engine mod other than the kit. shooting for 250ish and trying to hear all the feedback i can before i choose a b20b over a b18b
well, a change of plans on me today.. My oil sending unit somehow came unplugged and caused the piston rings to blow.
, so I'm having to throw an LS in it for now and just going to build my b16 for boost.

Yeah, I ws wrong about the oil sending unit. The guy I usually get to do my basemaps and such, I had talked to him and when I boosted my b16 I went to someone else and let them do it because they were closer, and well the guy that normally does them for me told me that a motor can blow the rings from too much timing on the basemap, so I will never let him do it again and just going back to the guy that always does it for me.
