Default b20 pistons???

which company should i go with for my pistons?? I am going to be running a built sleeved b20b4 with a built gsr head and a turbo(probably t3/t4(not sure what size a/r and exhaust housings). I am looking to run around 9:1 compression. Also not sure of what size pistons to use. I wanna overbore the block, but can I go all the way to 87mm and still have a reliable motor, rev reasonably high(7500-9000rpms), and be able to handle boost without worrying about blowing up the motor.

JE and CP make great 84mm, 84.5mm and 85mm pistons.

that's all fine and everything but the main question is:

can I bore it to 87mm and still have it be reliable(or even overbore it that far)?

I'd recommend a max of 85mm and that, IMO, is pushing it slightly.

why is that??? I am just looking for info here before I buy my internals and want the most power for my buck. That is why I want to know about overboring tolerances. So, if you could please delve into your statement I would really appreciate it. Thanks

You are going to make dick all for extra power going to 87MM over 84MM. Going from 81MM 9:1 compression to 84MM 9.5:1 compression I noticed nothing in the SOTP when it was all motor with a header, so I dont think you're going to gain anything by trying to bore that big. At that level your sleeves are going to be so thin that you will be much more suceptable to cracking them, and if something happens and you bust some ringlands, it's probably going to scar the cylinder walls to the point that they would need to be bored out again, but since you've already taken it out so huge you will have no room to bore and will need to resleeve.

YES!!! Thank You for the info...exactly what I was looking for. I will now be staying at either 84.5 or 85. Finally a guy with some answers

Stick with 84, 84.5 and 85 still don't leave you much room to overbore if something catastrophic happens. Why do you think I had to go from 81 to 84MM bore? Melted a bunch of pistons, busted a bunch of ringlands. If my block started out at 84.5MM I would probably be fucked.
