Default B20 appreciation thread.

Just want to thank my b20b for the past 2 years of reliability, 1 speeding ticket (suprisingly), and 1.5 years of handling boost.

here's more:

4/07 installed b20b ("low miles" from PWJDM)
-jdm b20b, ls tranny, act street performance clutch.

8/07
-turbo setup installed
custom top mount turbo setup:
t04e turbo
ebay 28x6 FMIC
greddy rs bov
tial 38mm wg
3" dp
2.5" alum ic piping.

440cc precision inj, FPR, BDL fuel rail
arp headstuds
new HG and timing belt
msd box and blaster coil
hondata s300

tuned on the wastegate spring, at 8.5 psi

(broke up a bit at the top from the msd supposedly)

i have been running this motor since then, daily driven for most of this time, and have put around 25-30k on it.

this goes to show that with a good tune, your motor can last. I'm retiring the motor as i am beginning a 2.0 ls-vtec build. I'll do a compression test before i pull it out in the next week or two. info to follow.

Awesome! I loved by boosted b20, it was so much fun. Maybe this will help some see that the b20 is a reliable motor with boost for an extended period of time.

I have a b20 as well, and I can't decide whether to Boost, or just spray it for ***** and giggles. I am afraid of it detonating/blowing, as a lot of tuners around here only street tune, unless I have Hondata or a standalone, then they will DYNO for me. Is that an eBay turbo as well?

Setup looks great though man!

it is an ebay turbo. no issues with it, did its job well. could make more power with a bigger nicer turbo though..

in my opinion boost is way more fun, you have the power right at your foot, and if you want more power you have options to make it more powerful just by upgrading a few things... running a vtec head... and you can build a block if you choose to

Are you really surprised that a 220whp setup has lasted that long? You can make those numbers without a turbo... Not down playing your setup, but your reliability is not all that amazing.

well, i just seemed to get alot of people who said that the motor WOULDNT last long.. and with how much i beat up this motor.. for a 6 or so months as an N/A setup, and almost 2 years of seeing both 10psi and 8.5 psi.. i'm suprised that it has lasted. and you are right.. im not making alot of power, i just wanted a moderately powered street car.

i'm going to be using the block to build an all motor setup now.

That blows my damn mind your trapping 150+ mph, with stock thin b20 sleeves, ebay cast manifold, crome, a small non ball bearing garrett, a SINGLE walbro, 720cc injectors.. ect.

How much does your car weigh?

What base fuel pressure are you at?

What kinda timing values are you at when you went 10.2 @ 31psi?

What octane? What Air fuel ratio?

This car has never been on a dyno?
