GARRETT T3/TO4E 60 TRIM W/ .82 A/R TURBINE

im looking to boost my b18c1, before i do this ill be building the bottom end. im looking to run 10lb boost at start and maby 1 bar down the line. out of all the turbos i suggested which would you chose? i dont want tons of boost lag. ill be using a sst manifold and a 24x6x3 pwr intercooler

I would go ahead and purchase the turbo you want to use for 1 bar on down the line. Now... how much power are you wanting to make? Here are my opinions...

GARRETT T3/TO4E 57 TRIM W/.48 A/R TURBINE - 3rd choice - A little better then the 50 trim and spool up times would be nice and fast as well.

GARRETT T3/TO4E 50 TRIM W/.48 A/R TURBINE - *edit* very fast spool up times, good for upper 300whp

GARRETT T3/TO4E 50 TRIM W/ .63 A/R TURBINE - I don't know if i like the idea of such a large a/r with as small as a comp trim.

GARRETT T3/TO4E 57 TRIM W/ .63 A/R TURBINE - my 2nd choice

GARRETT T3/TO4E 60 TRIM W/ .63 A/R TURBINE - my 1st choice

GARRETT T3/TO4E 60 TRIM W/ .82 A/R TURBINE - too large of an a/r trim, slow spool up times

For compressor maps, check out: http://www.turbocalculator.com/garrett.html

Those are all my opinion. I'm sure other people have other opinions. And once again, if we know how much power you wanted to make we could better decide which turbo is best for your needs.

The 50 trims are actually very effiecent and will push close to 400whp, especially with the .63ar. (i believe it was AR Fab, that made like 395ish with one, on a D series)

True. I ran the 50/.48 and the reason why I forgot the reason I peaked out was due to ignition... not trim sizes. whoops on my part.

GARRETT T3/TO4E 57 TRIM W/ .63 A/R TURBINE

I got this one.

On my pretty stock B18C, spool starts at 3200 rpms and full boost at around 4500 rpms. Top end is nasty. I'm running 10 lbs all day.

I like this one, it is capable of supposting the boost you want to run, while still keeping things pretty responsive. It's a nice compromise IMO for both top end, and spool time.

at 1st i thought i'd take a short cut and bought a 60/.63.. fast-forward 6 months later.. i've sold it and got an SC61, the verdict - Boost is addictive and should have bought the sc61 in the 1st place... if you plan on staying with FI for the long run, think about your options a bit longer especially if you're planning on doing the bottom end...

The sc61 is going to run you roughly $700-750

Contact 'arturbo' to purchase one.
