Default B18C Teg, When can i expect boost

Hi.

I have a JDM B18c1 Integra SiR-G. Im planning to turbo it (2nd Turbo VTEC project) and have a Blox manifold and AC 2.5" Dp. Im looking for about 350bhp (DIN70020) Which is about the same as 350whp SAE.

I'd like to use a GT turbo but figured that a T3/T4 to start with will see the project reach fruition sooner

From looking at compressor maps i think the best turbo will be a T3/T04e 50 trim .60 AR with a 0.63 Turbine AR (turbocalculator also offer .48). How does this sound to you guys? I figured about 35lbs/min at 1 bar boost and 8400rpm. When could i imagine to see boost with this setup?

Goal is a fast circuit car usuable on the street, drag isn't the primary role of the car.

Any advice would be great, planning Tial38mm and Crome. With about 8psi to start with, plan to use forged internals for 1bar.

Thanks
Jonny

I get 10psi at 3500 on my T3/T04E 0.63ar/57trim.

im using that same turbo on my b18c1. at 9 pounds i saw 290whp. the boost begins to kick right before 4k with full boost right after 4k. its fast and i love it. while driving it on the street you can tell the turbo is a little big but when internals are upgraded and the boost is cranked up to 16 or 18psi then itll be perfect.

edit thats just how it feels. the dyno graph shows i hit full boost at just under 3500rpm.

Thanks for replies, sounds a good size turbo then. Do you keep the dual stage runner feature? or switch to a Skunk2 manifold?

Don't suppose you have any pics of dyno graphs

Actually, if you're looking for a bit more circuit track use, and not the same use as most Americans, you're going to want something a slightly bit smaller, and at the same time a bit more efficient. If money is not a worry, i'd honestly look into the GT2871RLS for that kind of use and keep the compression where it is. In Europe a lot of the courses are a bit larger than ours, and at the same time you can stay within your rpm range in boost, and come back into boost quickly out of the rear corners into the straightaway.

If you're trying to stay more of the less expensive Journal Bearing approach, I recommend the GT32E for the B18C1, due to its efficiency... But because it uses a higher efficient set of journal bearings, its quickly efficient, without hurting the pocketbook as much
