B18B1 Turbo Question?
I currently have a 94' Integra with a B18B1 and am wondering if the turbo I have sitting in my basement will work?
It's a Garrett turbo, the compressor A/R .50 and the turbine is A/R .96 w/ T4 split flange.
The compressor has a 3" intake and the turbine has a 3" outlet.
I'd like to know if it will work with my teg? And what you guys think it would spool at? (My guess is 4-4.5k)

Re: B18B1 Turbo Question?
Any turbo will work, that a broad question. Will it work well probably not. Low revving engine with a big t4 turbine housing. Sell it and get a properly sized turbo

Re: B18B1 Turbo Question?
By too big in what is it too big? Because I'm not looking for a turbo system that will kick in at 1500-2300 I'm looking for one that only delievers the power I want when I really gas it (the track) other then that low boost is perfect. I just want to know at what rpm do you guys think it'll be building at? My guess is around 4000-4500 which leaves me with 2500-3000 until redline, and after that the no lift shift will help the boost stay built while I'm shifting down the track.

Something like that will more than likely only give you about 1000rpms of actual use of the turbo. Until we see some pictures of the compressor and turbine wheels, we can't be totally sure. but I can tell you on a B18B1 for what you're looking for, this will perform badly for you and you'll hate turbo life with such a large turbocharger on your LS engine, regardless of what turbine housing you switch to.
Sorry, just truth.

Re: B18B1 Turbo Question?
yea just like my setup. Turbo is wayyyyy to big. i hit full boost in my b20/built ls head at 6k and my redline is 8k. You should get something a little smaller. which is what im trying to do right now. i want power from 4500 to 8k.

Not worried about the plate, and my plan is to take the housings off. Then this way I can check the trim and also inspect the blades properly

Without knowing any more about it, I'm siding with TheShodan...you're better off selling it and buying something that actually fits the engine's size instead of wasting time on this one. A simple T3/T04e 50 trim is only ~$4-500 used and would be a much better match for your setup
