Default B18B1 Boost Suggestions

I've got a '95 Civic with a B18B1, and I'm looking to make round 350hp that can be driven every day.
I'm wondering what the most efficient way to get to the number I want without sacrificing reliability. With the research I've done I think a T3 T04E .63AR ball bearing turbo, bigger injectors, stronger fuel and oil pumps, cams, pistons, and sleeves would do the job well.
But I can't help but think I could do it better.
I'd also like to know what trans would be best for 350hp but has a decently large 5th for highway driving.

stock oil pump should be fine.
stock cams are also fine, though a set of turbo cams will obviously get you there a bit quicker with a little less boost.
That turbo is a popular one and will work great.
definitely will want pistons, rods, and sleeves, and I highly recommend ARP head studs. ARP main studs are some extra insurance, but not necessary.

as long as the engine is set up properly, and tuned well, reliability should not be a problem at all.

also remember you'll need a clutch that can handle it.
and stay away from log style manifolds. they spool quick, but dont flow well at all. find a nice QUALITY tubular manifold.

Honestly I like the ls tranny. Its all personal preference really. You may run faster times with a B16 or gsr tranny but for the street I like an ls tranny.

Isn't that the truth lol. Biggest reason I use it is fifth for the highway.

Uh-oh...please enlighten me as to what you mean.
I'm guessing you can't be banging out gears with an LS because 3rd won't like it too much?

He is saying he like to use LS transmission due to the gearing ratio of fifth gear, which is great for cruising as opposed to a GSR or b16 trans where you can be anywhere between 2500-3500 in fifth gear not to good for cruising

I wasn't implying they couldn't handle power. I was saying what I said due to the shitty gearing ratio they hold.

Edit: sorry I read your first post wrongly. My mistake

I hate to be the one to say this, but use the search feature. Tons of information you can get that you flat out WONT get in this thread. Examples would be

"best wastegate" "best bov" "38mm" etc etc

With that being said go with anything that has a reputation for being good (aka has been around for a while). Tial and Turbo Smart are great wastegates. BOV would also be those brands or HKS and Greddy to name a couple.

It's all good man, at least you didn't make the silly statement that you 'need' a quality 'tubular' manifold to meet your relatively low power level. As if that has any credence

Full-race did a back-to-back test with one of the pro street ram horn style manifolds against a log style manifold, it's on the website under tech.
For OP's 350HP goal, bolting on 48HP is worth considering.

350whp is easy and achievable. No need for cams or oil pump.. Or really even sleeves. A good tune with some extra parts will help u achieve your goal. U need a good tuner and ems. U can really run around all day long with stock **** together with a turbo and larger injectors for your goal. Ems and a tune : thumbup:

Making unrelated correlation on a completely different setup to justify the use of a ramhorn?

Need I remind you that currently near the top of FI there is a thread where the op was running 500+whp with a log manifold...and had all the better spool because of it.

The worst log manifold I've ever seen mind you lol. Literally the shape of a poop with 4 tubes welded 90 to it and a square shaped transition to the collector.

Inline pro is a high quality log style manifold that would be great for a beginner setup.

I am aware that the test was done with a gs-r motor, however there are plenty of non-vtec builds that have used a ramhorn making 350 or more.

I wasn't disagreeing with your comment about 'needing' x to get y, so much as seeing OP making a manifold purchase with room to grow.
The ramhorn is within that window (300-600+), that's why i mentioned it.

A log manifold will be just fine for your goals, and sleeves would be an unnecessary expense.
