Default b18b turbo setup

Hi all,
I have used the search and have found what people are doing with their LS tegs. I have a couple of q's that i didnt see answered. I have heard everyone believes its best to build your own turbo kit, but I have no clue on how or what I need. I was thinking of going with the greddy kit or the revhard kit (BTW this is a daily driver). The shop by me shop recommends the greddy kit as it is the most reliable kit. If I use this kit sould I stick with the Blue box or buy a Hondata? I am just worried about not finding a good tuner for the hondata and then having problems with that. Any info about any of this would be greatly appreciated.

Do some research in your area to find a tuner. I would highly recomend going custom on the turbo, you'll have a turbo suited to your driving style and needs. You can get that info by asking around (quick spool, or more peak power? etc) is one thing you need to figure out, low, mid or top end power? things like that..i recomend hondata over the fuel delivery devices that come with most all turbo kits. If you do your research you will save money

I have done a lot of research but it comes up a lot of the same stuff or stuff that does not cater to my needs. Thanks for the advise I never did think about how it has to do with my driving style, have to take that into consideration. Any one know a good shop in Chicago or IL that is good with turbo?hondata tuning?

Yeah, some people do mostly city driving so a smaller quicker spooling turbo is better for them, others do a lot of highway driving so a larger turbo that will flow a lot more up top suites them better. Then there are some who just want to make peak power and don't care about lag and how it drives.... Most want quick spool with a good midrange. A nice t3t4 will do good for that....(like a .50 trim .48 a/r)..cheapturbo.com is a good source..
