B18B Turbo 8.5psi Baseline Dyno
I'm at my friends shop, havent been on here in like 6 months because my Computer Died. But Heres the setup and what I made last night on the Dyno.
Setup:
B18b
Stock LS topend
Aries SRP 9.5:1 pistons
Eagle Rods (w/ arp rod bolts)
ARP head Studs
MSD cap
MSD Blaster2 Coil
Denso Irideum plugs
RevHard 2.5 Chargepipes
6in JRCI FMIC
Greddy TypeS BOV
Tial WG
Equal Length Mani
T04E 70A/R ballbearing 3in V-band turbo
open 3inch down pipe
Missing Link
Walbro255 pump
12:1 FMU
The wideband started reading lean from 5k on up to redline. At redinline the a/f's were in the mid 14's! The car will be parked until me and SOHCmshue can get a nice street tune on the new RC550's & Uberdata. Just running the FMU as a temp. fix until we get it tuned. Let me know what you think.
242.9whp 197ftlbs @ 8.5psi (fmu setup)
(DynoJet)
Let me know if u need any other info. Just given you guys an idea on what an fresh LS would make on FMU setup. Lata

yea thats definately a big snail.
hp is good, tq is a lil low. once you get the uberdata going, richen it up and add some more timing

Re: B18B Turbo 8.5psi Baseline Dyno (JDM S1eeper)
Thanks guys for the replys.
I just switched to a new manifold and will have new numbers w. the new mani and tuned on Uberdata here soon. I just purchaced the InlinePro Stainless T4 mani from Stan saturday. So far i am completely impressed w/ it and would say its well worth the price tag ($599, but i got a discount ) I was running a stock clutch and flywheel (now dead) and will be installing my Stage4 Pressure plate w/ 6puck disk, along w/ ITR flywheel before my next dyno. I hope to also have pics.
I hope this info will help anyone searching

i think the only reason he hasn't melted something yet was the race gas he still had left from the track. + the forged pistons.

Re: B18B Turbo 8.5psi Baseline Dyno (SOHC_MShue)
How long has he been driving like this? A couple pulls won't kill the motor but enough abuse will at 14:1 AFR hehe

a few track pulls and probably a little bit on the street. He has only had the new motor in for a couple of weeks. He did have another stock ls block in there that he cracked 3 cylinders on after a week of driving it with the same fuel setup...this happened when his ssac caused him to spike to 20psi though

Re: B18B Turbo 8.5psi Baseline Dyno (JDM S1eeper)
what wideband did you use? the tailpipe sniffer on the dynojet??
if you did use the sniffer it could have been malfunctioning or the readings somehow was thrown off??? just an idea..
Because I tuned a coustomers car to exactly 12.9-13.0 with a brand new wideband. A week later he went to the dyno for a base run and called me up saying that the people at the dyno shop said he was running 14-15 afr!!!!!
But it checked out fine when I barrowed a friends wideband to check. That dyno shop he went to did use the dynojet tailpipe sniffer... so something could have thrown the readings off or the wideband itself could have been broken.
just my .02

Re: B18B Turbo 8.5psi Baseline Dyno (LazyNip)
generally the dyno wideband will read a little leaner because it is placed so close to the air from being at the end of the tailpipe. Theres no doubt that he is running lean though because 242whp is a lot to push on stock injectors that probably max out well before that.
