b18b head gasket replacement
Alright so I have to replace my head gasket on my integra. I ordered arp head studs today and I'm getting ready to pick up a gasket. I was told that the felpro permatorque mls head gasket would be fine to use. $50 vs. $81 oem
Anyone have experience with these gaskets? I'm running 12-13psi making around 260whp Also I have heard something about using copper spray on the gasket? I know what it is but is it really needed or even recommended?
Thanks,Adam

Hmm I pulled a fel pro gasket off my Dseries when it was disassembled, it ran top 12 pounds of boost and it didn't leak/blow or anything else I had stock head studs. Didn't get a fel pro for this build and kinda wish I did.

Anyone else have experience? What about the copper seal I heard about. Should I use it or not? Also what's the process. I've heard 2-3 light coats with 15 minutes between each one and let it dry overnight. Thanks in advance.

Re: b18b head gasket replacement
you dont need copper spray. if both surfaces are flat the hg will seal properly. just get thos arp's with the felpo and you will be just fine. the bottom end will puke before the hg does lol

Re: b18b head gasket replacement
Awesome that's what I like to hear.
Can anyone give me the torque specs and sequence for b18b head bolts and cam caps. Thanks,Adam
I'm finding online that you torque head bolts to 22ft-lbs then 63ft-lbs. Would this be the same if I'm using arp studs? Also do you torque the head studs into the block and torque the nuts down? Or just snug the studs and torque the nuts down? Do I use honda specs or does arp have different specs. Thanks

Re: b18b head gasket replacement
I always use copper spray, it just helps and doesn't really hurt anything. Just a light coat right before you put it on. I remember awhile back I asked Earl his opinion on it and he said the same exact thing, he used it because it was just added reinsurance, and it didn't hurt anything.
