Default B18A/B18B

IS THERE any difference between a 91-92 b18a block and the newer 94+ b18b block, regarding the crank, rods, pistons, and sensors?? I can get a complete b18a engine for $100 at the junkyard to rebuild w/ sleeves, rods and pistons and was curious if it would be a viable decision.. this will be goin in a 92 hatch body...

Let see...from what I can remember, the B18A block is basically the same, except it has the PCV on the back. Some extra sensors here and there. No crank fluctuation sensor? Same Crank, pistons/rods. Also the crank pulley , the power steering is the shape of a V, not the 4 ribbed belt like the b18b.

I wonder if the B18b has knock sensor. I know that the B18a does not.
The pcv on the B18A is normal, like all b-series vtec's (B18b & B20b/z have the pcv on the valve cover).

Same motors pretty much minus a couple emissions things and intake manifold. Compression on on the newer b18b's are also slightly higher. 9.4:1 compared to 9.2:1 i think, but don't quote me on that.
