b18 LS w/ vtec head build..
Hey, Ive always been a v8 guy till recently the way gas prices are and im picking up a b18 out of an LS 94 integra.. looking to build it up as a quick daily driver that still gets upwards of 20-30 mpg.. gonna obviously boost it and run low boost for daily drivin and high for when the ********* try to pull on me. Im most likely going to convert it to a vtec head and i was wondering what the best way to do that was? (i heard that drilling is obviously the best way to go) so i guess what im looking to find out is where should i start with the block? im probly gonna keep it a 1.8 or maybe up to a 2.0 and put some dart sleeves in it since im looking to run in the 12.s at high boost.. any suggestions at all for the build?

keep it stock bottom end, put a stock oem vtec head on it. a newer head (94+ head would be a smart choice)
this combo will be able to make 350 + on pumpgas reliably. this should easily get you into the 11's on a drag radial.
there is no need to spend money on stuff you arent going to "max out"
keep it simple
search for the "highest hp stock block" thread. you will be amazed what this shitty honda engines will do, with a proper tune
look into the Golden Eagle Ls/vtec conversion kit, its the most complete conversion kit on the market & you wont have to drill some half assed holes in your head

Be careful. People will get those gas mileage numbers based upon their foot on the gas, and their tune. Depending upon how the car was tuned with the setup you create, you may not get the gas efficiency you think, if you drive pretty aggressively.
