Default b18 or b20 for boost

which would u recommend for boost....b20z or b18 non vtec(ls) ...i heard b20 have thing cylinder walls but they do have more displacement...help me out here for my lil ek

the B20 will make more all around power at the same boost level. as long as you keep the boost low (under 10PSI) and have it tuned safley the cylinder sleeves should be OK. but they have been known to crack.

the B18B will take more abuse and yes the sleeves are stronger but it will make a little less power......

my jdm freak friend of mine said that the only difference between the b20 and b18 is the stroke....not the bore....so he told me to boost the sh*t out of the b20 but then i do here from other ppl about the thing sleeves on the block and i comon sense tells me that a bigger displacement will hold more boost...but then everyone i know that boost their ls motors on stock internals never have no problems and create mad horsepower...

Your friend is wrong,

b18=81 mm bore
b20=84 mm bore

lol ok thanks... so where do you think i can get a pretty cheap b18 ls around here? i want to build it and run all engine for a couple 1000 miles before boosting it..not to mention save up for the boost setup
