Default B16a2 Sleeved Block question

I pulled my B16 out of my EM1. As it sits right now:

B16a2 block; stock sleeved
Thermal coated
CP Pistons 9:1
Crower Rods

I'm not getting into the head b/c its irrelevent for this post, but I was running a JRSC at 11 psi, on the way home one day car shut off, oil pressure dropped out and after this point car would have a constand whining noise is the best way I could describe it. When you first started it, it would knock for about 2 seconds then go away but I didn't want to chance it.

Anyways I am planning on sending the block off to GE to have it sleeved, bored to 84mm. I ditched the JRSC and am going turbo. Now I am curious since I want to go 84mm, will I be able to use my existing rods and just mate them to some 84mm pistons?

I obviously want to have everything checked while they have it, new bearings and oil pump installed but I just wanted to now if I will have to buy new rods...

Thanks for any advice

JP

As long as you are keeping the same crank, you can keep the rods and just change the pistons.

As stated before, you're fine with the rods you have.

Crower is a god rod but the arp 2000 bolt is not up to the same standard.. I would Get a 625 series rod bolts and tourqe after talking to crower and have the big end honed.. That is what I am going to do with my crowers when I get my next chance..

I dont agree with having to change the rod bolts im using them in my pauters and have been for 6yrs and even sent them back to have new wrist pins bushing installed and still the same arp bolts.Im going to put new ones this rebuild but not because they failed. On a b16 the stroke is so small compared to b18 less stress on the rod and bolts.
