Default B16A2 modifications...

Hello H-T,

I want to rebuild a b16 to get around 250 / 300 HP (@ 10 / 12 psi.)
Its a daily driven car. and i want it to last a good nice long time.

I dont know if i should get my engine resleved and change the compression. and what kind of manufacturer i should use JE, Arias, CP, Wiseco Pistons and darton or GE Sleeves. but i read about all those scarry things like sunken sleves and cracks. and should i get the head o-ringed.

Can some of you guys help me a little bit with the choise of parts. for the setup that i want.

i realy like darton sleeves i've seen so far... and sp pistons..

but what would you guys do... ( sorry for my bad english i live in the netherlands Europe )

Stock sleeves are quite strong if you have the car tuned properly.

You could just drop a slightly thicker headgasket on there with some tuning (Hondata, AEM, etc) and make some really good power (260-300 WHP) with 12 PSI

yes i know but as i said before i want it to last long.

And i find it no problem to rebuild the engine.
and if some time i want more then 12 psi then i can do it without changing the engine again

i was thinking of a standalone system im trying uberdata out for almost a week and im verry happy with it. so i will stick with it..

imo, it doesn't really matter, people have had great success with all of them. But I said benson simply because I just recently read about what great service they have. btw I know about the ge sleeves thingy too

i was thinking:

Darton sleeves.
SP pistons.
some kind of rods ??? ( full-race / crower /manley / pauter )
Drag turbo kit without the FMU the missing link and the crappy delta wastegate
Drag intercooler
Trial Wastegate
2.5 " downpipe
3" exhaust
stock cams
walbro 255lph Fule pump
450 cc dsm injectors
crx resistor box for the injectors
Uberdata chipped fule system

But i have read that the drag manifold is prone to crack ??? what schould i do
and what kind of transsmision upgrades should i do other gears ??.and what kind of clutch / pressureplate.and what kind of axels..

am i forgetting something ?? and / or schould i change some type of part for something else..

Seems like you're going to spend some serious $$$.
So if you dont need the fmu, bypass and the other crap from the drag kit,you could or you should get a custum kit!You can choose wich mani you like, maybe full-race?

so you say i go and buy me a:
Turbo exhaust manifold
Turbonetics T4/T3 TO4E High flow turbocharger assembly
Front mount intercooler
Blow off valve
intake charge piping.
Mandrel bent high flow 3" exhaust down pipe
And the little hardware

and it will be cheaper then the kit minus the parts i dont need ??

I agree, custom would be the way to go. If I had to do it all over again, I would have just bought the drag piping and the t3/t4 turbo from the drag kit. The other parts(FMU, inline fp, manifold, return oil lines, etc..) in the drag kit are not what I would suggest in a quality set-up.

The rest would have been something like:
Inlinepro manifold
Custom 3" dp and exhaust piping
Spearco intercooler(custom size)
Tial 38mm wg
custom Earls ss oil return line
450cc-550cc RC injectors
Walbro 255lph intank pump
