Yes. you can rev it that high. I wouldn't wanna push it up there myself on a routine basis, but the valvetrain can hold it. Valvetrain is cheap. No real reason not to use upgraded valvetrain.

If you make power that high, yes. If not, no.

If you have Type R cams or bigger and the stock valvetrain, absolutely not.

Reving higher can actually slow you down if you are pushing your revs beyond your power band.

valve's, springs, retainers and cam's are not "cheap". you make it sound like you could put new ones in every week. they are not cheap. unless of course you make 10 grand a month.

Dude, seriously.... valvetrain isn't very expensive. Valvesprings and retainers are not crazy expensive.... oem valves are almost always better than the aftermarket offerings. Cams are more expensive.... but you can totally buy ITR cams and valvetrain for around 600 if you shop around. 600 dollars.... thats not a whole lot. I purchased my ITR cams for 325. Look around vendors give discounts and people liquidate their builds and sell on the cheap. I let a B16 head go with full skunk2 valvetrain for 325. So relax and put in some extra hours. If your gonna **** and moan about the cost of parts then you need to get out of the honda world. Because our parts cost next to nothing compared to other vehicles.

i am not pissing and moaning. i'm saying that not everyone has $600 to just blow away on a head for a honda. i have a fully built b16 head also, it just took me a while to get all the parts. obviously money isn't as big of an issue as myself. plus valvetrain isn't needed unless going over 300 WHP. unless the car is a DD then i'd do it just for precaution.

Most B-series motors push close or go over the 300whp mark at 8-10psi. 600 dollars is cheap insurance compared to what it will cost for a valve train disaster to be repaired. people spend hundreds of dollars on a retune after they change something small. I guess we both will have to live to disagree.

8-10 psi to get 300 WHP? have to be a fairly large turbo. not saying huge, just too big. max psi on an 18g is 21 psi, roughly. i'm running 16 psi. so i'm not overworking it but it's also being used and i also don't have much lag at all. i don't get how you can get valve's, springs, retainers for $600 and then another couple hundred to get them installed. like i said, if i was to only push 300 WHP i would never touch the motor except the head gasket unless it was a DD or i was planning on more down the road.

Like seriously... look around... check the classifieds. how expensive do you think valve springs and retainers are? You don't need to change valves. I don't know why you keep bringing up valves. The OEM honda valves are really good to begin with. When you only have to do valvesprings and retainers... the head doesn't come off the block. Cars can make 300whp on 10psi all day. T3/T4 57 trims... perfectly suitable to make that power. I am looking at two dyno graphs that have stock heads... one made 280 the other made 290. If the car had cams. it would easily be over 300. I'm not gonna argue with you, maybe they gouge people in canada. I know people who do great work at good prices. My friend spent 325 on my valvetrain.... 400 on cams.. 200 on my cam gears... and 350 for install So for a little under 1300 his head was done. Considering how much people spend on everything else. 1300 is a steal. Too bad he went NA and isn't boosting. There is nothing wrong with a t3/t4 turbo... probably one of the most common turbos to be selected and comes in many kits sold.
