Default B16a? turbo in CA

I currently had my jdm b16a sirII engine die on me so i need to get a new longblock. But before i get it i was thinking would it be best for me to get a usdm b16a2 since it has a slight less compression and the fact that i live in CA and im not sure if a jdm block will pass smog. i think that would be best for my situation. but im not sure on this so i an asking you guys here to help me out, i do have a chance to get a jdm longblock installed for about 1k but i want to be sure i should get a usdm or jdm? and money is not a prob so i would pay more for a us block.

That's the least of your worries if you still plan on turbocharging your B16A for later. You'll more than likely have to get a Greddy or Edlebrock CARB legal kit if you're that concerned about smog. Unless you plan on registering the car and your license in a different state, your turbo / smog issues will continue

ya i want to have the car check by a state ref. before i do get a turbo and i would like to have a smog legal turbo so all my papers match and are legal, i know its going to be a bitch since i live in Cali.

so you think i should get a B16a2 since that should pass smog and the ref.

I got the Drag Kit, I'm just gonna have to tear it down every two years and put it back to stock

This a b16 JDM swap in to a CRX w/ turbo. The project is almost complete. took a little while but it's a strong car.

looks great to me, ive been waiting to get mine setup for the last few years now. i just want to be sure my engine with low compression pistons and new rods would pass smog with either a jdm or usdm b16, when i remove the turbo.
