b16 or supercharger?
hello guys,
after i finish bringing my car up to date... i would like to look into some more power options.
i have considered both the S/C and the b16. (btw this is for a 96 civic ex)
S/C pros:
DIY install?
total of about 180HP and 130ish TQ (sorry if my tq figures are off)
S/C cons:
still automatic transmission
maybe i need to replace some other parts in the car for it to work
b16 pros:
can get a manual tranny
less mileage (around 40k)
b16 cons:
cost to put it in, im not willing to take upon such a huge endeavor
160HP, 113 TQ (wtf happened to the tq?)
what would you do?

Installing a supercharger is not that much easier than doing a swap. Both took me about a week. Although they are both intense DIY jobs.
A supercharger is good for a "spirited" daily driver. You will never be fast with one. At least with the swap you have room to grow.

buy a manual..IMO i would look for other cars for sale that you like..and some of them already have swaps in them and people just dont want the car anymore so you can get a good deal out of that..and you could probably sale the civic you have, buy the other car and still possibly have $ left over..
