b16 or gsr
ok doin a turbo build and wanting about 4-500 whp, i will have the gsr bottom end prepped and ready for turbo, but should i go wityh a b16 head or a gsr head? i can snag a b16 for 250 and gsr for 325

B16 since it's cheaper, not major difference you will see from each head... Plus the b16 head with a gsr block is basically what honda did to make the "B18c5 Type R"... Plus the b16 head will give you more intake manifold choices for aftermarket goodies...

ya i did a poor mans type r few years ago, but never got around to enjoying it due to problems, and i originally wanted the same setup so i could boost it, but was kind of in a pickle as to what head to use since they are both available

i think its all about the head work (valves, springs, retainers, p&p) to allow the most cfm's if im not mistaken. but i had heard the gsr has squared chambers on the bottom of the head for better combustion as opposed to a b16 round ones, if im not mistaken

the b16 head flows better stock,
the GSR head is better if you built it/port it vs the b16
because of the chambers.
so if your leaving a stock head, get b16, if your to build / port the head, get a gsr
