B16 gearboxes with turbos.
How do these gearboxes hold up to the power from turbo charging. My car will be a D.D as well as a track car.Hoping for around 450-500whp.Will the gearbox be able to cope,or will i be buying new ones all the time.Want to know cause this is pretty much going to sway my decision.

on our hotrod car we are running a stock b16 box, with an aftermarket final/ liberty gear handcuff. so far we have only stripped all the teeth off of 1st gear.... the honda box's hold up well if you go easy on them, and dont shock the **** out of them everytime you launch. we are making 800+ hp to the tires.

listen to dave!
also, remember PRELOAD and if you are making that power, a twin disc may be in the cards as well. i have 540+- on a stock b16 with a quaife and gearspeed syncros. no handcuff and an exedy twin. twins are alot easier on the tranny than a single. so far 12 passes and only one broken axle, but that was my fault, full throttle shift. didnt do it on the previous 11 passes, but it iwas in eliminations and needed to make some ground up on simpson.
