Default B16 crank in GSR block...

Ok guys......I'm wondering if anyone has ever did or thought about putting a B16 crank in a GSR block for the simple fact that you can rev much higher and quicker with the B16 crank cause of the R/S. Now what I'm asking is, If I put the B16 crank in the GSR block will i have to use CTR rods or even CTR aftermarket rods because it's just like using a CTR motor to begin with. So for anyone u to answer my question what's your thought's on this setup? And witht the B16 crank in the GSR block I'm almost certain that you will yeild some good torque numbers and have hella top end!

Please help...

It has been done, but honestly the only time that de-stroking a b-series motor is worthwhile is when it the r:s ratio can be improved without losing displacement. Basically with few exceptions, gains in displacement will yield more power than those produced by reving a motor higher because the r:s ratio is improved (at the expense of displacement). This is why people started making blocks with taller deck heights.

I've done it and it doesn't make **** for torque. You can make power to over 10k rpm with a gsr crank, no need to destroke it. It might be good for a road race car, but not drag.

CTR engine revs only a couple hundred rpms higher than a GSR engine, and they did much more to it than just destroke it....

not a good idea but can be an expensive idea because of custom parts necessary.

What turbo did you use on this and was it fun or just a torqueless piece of junk
