ATTN: E85 Users- $0.85/Gal
My brother was watching the news and saw that Kroger (on 635/Macarthur, DFW Area) is selling E85 for $0.85/gal today (7:30AM-9:30AM)
Rolled up to Kroger, Turns out they have rep's out there that were giving people info on it. Filled my tank, which was on E for $10.12, then Filled my 5 Gallon container as well. One of them staring asking about my car and gave me a $25 E85 gift card. He was cool, said it was only supposed to be for GM's
I forgot all the places they were going to visit so check your local Kroger's

how do you do that without properly tuning it?

A 50% mix only runs it about 15% lean, the O2 sensor can pick that up and the stock fuel system can handle that. But I do have slightly larger injectors in it, stock is 15lbs and it has 19lbs, so actully it runs rich with regualr fuel and perfect with e85 mix.

So what car are you driving with what engine and what did you do to be able to run this stuff. Just a little curious.

East Coast, only 1 pump in DE, might have something to do with it.

you misunderstood, my locations relative location the corn fields that produce the ethanol jacks the price up. I then went on to say there is only 1 pump in my state of DE

It also has to do what state you live in. Wisconsin jacks prices up like made because our local government sucks ***. We should be cheaper due to the mississippi river and the 2 great lakes we live on that support 1000+ foot ore ships, but...
no supertankers here

I think theres a link in another thread. Besides tuning what else must you do. Are there any mechanical modifactions you have to do and how much more must you burn? I know the guy said 15% so if your getting 20 mpg you might get 16-17 mpg with e-85. Man I wish they sold that stuff around here. Its only up north right?
Its availible all over, just in limited spots - depends on how its subsidized to make it worth while for the gas station.
E85 can be burned lean under light load (cruising), meaning it doens't use all that much more if you drive normal. It also can be burnt a bit leaner under boost, as well as can use more timing (runs cooler and higher octane). The main reason you run rich is to cool the charge down and 'fake' more octane, while E85 cools naturally and has higher octane #'s. So for the same power, you're not using the 30-40% more fuel that 'paper numbers' tell you.
Its just less dense fuel per gram that has all the right qualities you want in a fuel...except it can be slightly corrosive to 100% natural rubber seals used in really old (pre-80's) cars, and can absorb water over time. I can overlook that for oil-independance and 104 octane
