Default ATTN:does anyone use megasquirt fuel management?

http://www.megasquirt.info/

this looks like a good fuel management for me and many others in the same boat as me (my boat:new to DIY fuel management and overwhelmed by information) i think that many people could prosper from this set up im pretty sure ill be getting this setup after x-mas

What You Do NOT Need

Programming skills. The assembly language software is already written and loaded, and the tuning interface is through a straightforward Windows application. You can, of course, conceive, write and load you own code if you wish.
PROM burner to make tuning changes. A serial port connection allows adjustment of all the tuning parameters. Software updates are up-loadable through the serial connection as well.
Advanced electronic skills. If you can solder and follow directions, or are willing to learn, you should be able to successfully assemble MegaSquirt. You do not need to know what each and every component does, as there is a comprehensive assembly guide to walk you through the entire assembly and testing process.
Latest laptop computer. In fact, newer computer often do not have the serial port that is needed to communicate with MegaSquirt (instead they have USB ports). USB/Serial adapters can be used, but an older laptop is very cheap, and often a better solution. You may want a faster computer for processing data logs with MSTweak3000, but these can be done separately on a faster desktop machine.

ive heard very very good things about megasquirt, although personally i have zero experience with it, my old lab instructor at full sail had a charger that ran 10's, a 600+whp sr20 240sx, and a veedub all runnning megasquirt and electromotive's tec3 or something for the ignition, he tried to get me to go the same direction but i had already bought my management.
i know others on this forum have used it, there are a few posts lying around about it. some guy i think was running it for a custom gokart or something, I think i saw it in tech.

edit, i believe ultramegasquirt controls ignitino as well, not 100%sure though.

I have MegaSquirt running on a VW Thing Turbo.

UltraMegaSquirt does have ignition control, but there are also other versions of the basic MegaSquirt that also now have ignition control, in addition to the soon to be released MegaSquirt II (which upgrades basic MegaSquirt to near UltraMegaSquirt capabilities).

There is a very helpful and comprehensive forum at http://www.msefi.com.

Check out the FAQ's for more info!!
