Default ATS 4.929 FD too high for boosted cars?

I noticed that a lot of higher hp all-motor cars run the ATS final drive and they are practically rowing through the gears. In videos it almost seems like 2nd gear accelerates as fast as 1st gear depending on starting speed.

Would there be any disadvantages to running this FD on a boosted motor? I didn't know if the shorter gears would make the powerband short considering so the gears end so quickly.

Thanks in advance!

yes the shorter gears will help you run through the powerband quicker. as long as you have traction, shorter gearing will give you better acceleration

exactly. shorter gearing = faster 1/4 mile time

as long as you have traction and dont run out of gears.

The thing is with gearing that short your probably going to have to run a huge slick. I would stay with a 4.40 final drive which is short as it is. Although i am curious what others have to say.
