No - you cant do that. Washers at home depot will crush differently then the other washers in the motor and could cause a head bolt getting loose.

Call ARP at 800.826.3045 or visit http://www.arp-bolts.com/

You can buy the washer by itself, will only cost you a few bucks.

I'd actually call up Lightning Motorsports, they hooked me up twice with individual ARP parts I needed. They are well-priced and ship fast. Otherwise get it from the horse's mouth.

I had the same problem on a built motor. Replaced it with a stainless washer that i had laying around and it's been fine for well over a year.

take that for what it's worth, i'm not recommendng it but it's worked for me.

ARP washers for headstuds are ground flat as ***** so the load of the nut is directed perpendicular to the bolted surface. the washers from home depot are ground using gay methods.

Just out of curiosity - why did my friend's set of ARP studs come with spherical washers? We got new ones cause he ended up losing one fo the washers, but I was always curious why the washers were spherical when the nut's flange was flat?
