Hey, anyone know if I can connect the boost control into the side hole instead of the top hole? I'm having hood clearance issues if i use the top hole and I was wondering if I can just use the side hole to make my avc-r work.

depends on what kind of wastegate(internal or external) internal you use the bottom and external you use the side. you can download the instructions from the apex i web site.
