Anyone's setup actually run perfectly?
Okay I'm getting very discouraged reading this forum because all I see is people having problems with their turbos. Is there even ANYONE here who has no problems?
I plan on getting a second car for those exciting times when my car is down but right now I'm in the process of a move and that takes money. I'm thinking I should just wait to do my install when I can afford the beater.

mine does. it runs perfect, no problems at all, except one, and it has nothing to do with it being turbo. i have a slight oil leak at either my crank seal or my rear balance shaft housing. either way, it could have happened regardless of wether the car was turbo or not. now when i get a standalone, i might run into some tuning problems until i get to my tuner. but other than that, everything is great
I think trying to judge the success of turbo's based on the forum is not a good idea. Typically people only post because they have a problem and are trying to get help.
If things work, people typically don't post about it.

It's just a matter of tuning your setup properly and doing the routine maintenance when you go boost. At low boost my setup ran well. When I went standalone, and screwed around with the settings is when my car started to be a pain. That's the way you learn though, right?
Like rjardy says, you get what you put into it.

The thing is, most people who post on here with their problems are doing this themselves, most for the first time. There are a lot of things that can only be learned from experience. I've done a ton of turbos, custom and kits, with no problems what so ever. On the other hand, i've seen a ton of cars that people have done themselves with all kinds of problems. Turbos can be reliable if done properly. Manufacturers wouldn't build cars with them if they weren't! If you don't know what you're doing then take it to someone who does. There's a ton of things you can do wrong and a lot of damage that can be done. I know everyone wants to learn and do it themselves, but you know as well as I do that some people just aren't mechanically inclined.

My friend Rob (rjardy) will be helping me as long as he doesn't blow up his own car.
or yours for that matter. I have never done a turbo install but lenty of engine installs removals clutches ETC. a bolt is a bolt an a nut is a nut ( thats asking for it ) fact is, if you know whats going on and are somewhat mechanically inclined you can attack about any project on your Honda. Dont worry Ben.Rob
You only see problem posts because why would someone make a post that says "hey everythings running fine, thank you." I think the majority of people with a turbo have it running fine, they are the ones who answer other peoples questions, and whatnot.
Just a part of the game when you start putting on more mods than I/H/E. Put some serious horsepower and something stock is bound to give in due time. Not necessarily the motor, possibly axles, plugs, things like that. As long as its tuned well and you keep a pretty constant check on things, there shouldnt be many problems at all.
