Default Anyone using a 35,40R or a t3/t67 for a daily driven street car??

just wondering out there if anyone is using these turbos for a daily driven street car, im pretty sure some ppl out there are using 35r, but just trying to get an idea, trying to figure out which to go with for my next set up next season, looking for around something like 400-650, maybe around something in that area, DD, low boost DD tune (pump gas) and high boost (race gas/track tune). thanks for some opinions

For 650 peak I'd run a GT35R. Spool isn't bad on an 84mm motor, it's certainly liveable.

I have a 35R on my 83MM B18C1, and I love it for a street turbo. Probably the biggest I would go on the street, though. I have the .63 and I would recommend that...I see boost building maybe around 3.5k and full around 5k and Im revving to 9k so a very useable powerband IMO. Im only pushing around 330whp for now (500+ after my tilton install ), though, due to a slipping clutch, but as you know a 35R leaves you with a lot of headroom, lol. But, yeah, thats my input! Good luck and hope you make the right choice for yourself! Keep us updated!

I ran my 35r as street turbo last year, it was nice cuz i would stay way out of boost unless i needed it, and when i wanted to burn 4th gear down the highway i did. but in all reality as much as I love going really fast (40r this year) I absolutly loved my .42/.48 I had on a LS setup a while ago - only made like 200whp but it was fun to drive rant rant rant yes a 35r is fun and drivable for a DD

not daily driveneveryday but put thousands of miles on em and either sold them or sold the car with them ,,i see no reason why you wouldnt be able to,i just didnt cause i would not leave the car parked anywhere but if it was secure i would drive it on 3 to 4 hour trips and also sat in bumper to bumper traffic prob free

u recommend one? im sure all 3 are good turbos, i guess its just on budget wise? i know the t3/t67 are cheaper than the GT series, and HP range, looking for something that would spool up pretty damn good, and not max out the turbo, i guess the 35r is a good choice, just want something so i have room to grow

I like my GT3582RLS .63ar for everyday. spools good, starts around 3500 and is party-on at 5200 until redline at 9500rpm.

We just installed a Full-Race GT3567R H.O. and the power differance is huge and the spool was the same!!

<-- 35r daily driven, work and back. boston and back. putting it away for the winter.

i love it powerband is great. 3000+rpm of usable power. in my opinion the powerband goes with the amount of power want to make dont limit yourself cuz its a street car.

the only issues that sucks about 500+whp street cars is as we all know the clutch. twin plate clutches arent all to comfortable to drive on the street. i have an exedy twin disk, there is a sweet spot to slip it a litttle but damn is it small. chirping 4th gear is fun though lol

Must be an exedy thing because my competition clutch twin is the most comfortable clutch I've ever had

wat kinda A/R u guys using? or a most popular one, looking for something with not so much lag, but not gonna choke up top, im assuming the .82, especially if its a BB turbo it shouldnt have that much lag to begin with, this motor is a gonna be a stock bore block

At least you have the option of a twin disk - nobody makes a twin disk for the d-series so to hold 500whp (like i do) you need to run a crazy 6puck unsprung monster with a huge pressure plate. Its awful. I would own a twin disk over the 6puck ANY day of the week.

Oh and i run a gt3082r - which is huge on a 75mm d-series (zc). I dont mind the lag, i can get full spool around 5500 and rev until 9000 so i still have 3500 or so power band. I wouldnt recommend larger thats for sure. On a street car, for a d-series at least, keeping it to a gt2871r is a good idea.

why would you choose a twin disk over a 6 puck as long as its holding the power fine. ive heard other companies are a little softer, but my exedy is so harsh im sure its going to be the cause of some drivetrain part failures in the future.

dual cam i went with a .82, i think a .63 is pretty small for a 35r. im happy with the spool of the .82 and the top end doesnt suffer too bad either, power is still rising at 9k for me at 26psi.
