Its never to BIG! lol!
Test drive it around and see how you like the spool times/ etc on it.
I personally run the same intercooler on my gsr.

My opinion is its BIG bcuz only the lower part of the intercooler get slap by the air not the upper part and its hard to build boost
But if it work for u then

ehh, it will be fine. especially since you WILL upgrade. i say WILL because it will only take a while and you will want something bigger than a .42/.48. boost is like crack

omg yea that thing is huge .. you would spool much faster with a intercooler half that size and make more power

Naw thats just internet myth. Spool times between a huge intercooler and a smaller one are almost insignificant. When a turbo is flowing 30-40-50+ *pounds* of air a minute....just think about that for a second...pounds of air a minute, its not gonna take very long to fill an intercooler.

You dont want the whole intercooler exposed anyways because then the air will go around it and not through it. I remember readiing in "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell that all you really need is 1/4 of it to be exposed.
I'm pretty sure pressure drop can also be an issue when you run such a large intercooler with a small sized turbo. But I think thats also dependant on endtank and core design as well.
