I am just curious if anyone has done this? I am sure some have.. If you dont mind please post your set-ups and how much of this power you were actually able to use on the street with drag radials..

not one bit of the pwr can be used on the street... with drag radials i spin first second and third on non vtec car running on gas. made 460hp in cx hb.

hehe. thats what I am afraid of.. My teg should be done in a few months and I am hoping to be over the 400whp mark. Now you got me all depressed thinking I shouldnt have spent all that money getting me that much power now that I wont be able to use it.. *sigh*

seriously, u think vipers and BPU supras have it easy too? give it full throttle in 1st gear in any one of those and your liable to be facing the other direction on the other side of the street.. FID! get 400whp then worry about it!

Just for curiosity sake, what does it take to run 400whp in a non vtec 1.8? List the parts. I have gone overboard with my Grand National (trailer queen), and I not too interested in making history repeat itself

i am hoping for upper 300s with my planned setup...maybe 400, but I am sure it will only be for bragging rights...no way to use all that power.

for ls to do that hears the parts needed to hit 400hp +

Crower/Eagle Rods your choice
I used JE pistons in mine 9.8:1
I used Factory Head Gasket
920cc injectors
T04X at 20 psi
Quaife in LS tranny which *** by the way... if you ask me. Go GSR tranny

The HEAD IS THE KEY to making power and saftey on ls
Make sure you choose good valve springs and retainers. I went with .5mm over sized valves from local shop in dallas. it was std valve nothign to fancy.

I also went with a mild port and polish nothing fancy again. For cams i chose JG cams since back then thats all that was out for hte LS.

Fuel setup Two GSX fuel pumps running DFI gen 6 old school. I blew this motor after 6 weeks of hard driving though the thrust washer gave out on the crank and it shifted and locked the cams. since there was no oil


But then i went stock and still made 280 hp on stock block with 370cc injectors so its good motor to boost.
