Re: (ekBlackHatch)
Some news, my motor is at RLZ getting built, and my CCW Magnum Powers M90 blower arrived today:
It's an aftermarket Magnum Powers blower case, big ports, output port radiusing built into the casting, these things make 500 WHP:
Huge inlet port, this is why I went with the Magnum Powers case, you can't port an Eaton case like that:
The nose drive had to be reversed, he had the old flange holes welded in and CNC'd new holes and flat spots for the mounting screws. This came out way better than I thought it would.
The other side of the flange, more excellent work. The fitment is great, everything moves smoothly and silently.

Re: (Jon V)
I'm putting it on my Dart-block B-series now, hence the CCW modification. I just bought a CRX that threw a rod, so I'll probably build the K24/K20 for all motor (stock sleeves, IB rods, 12.5:1 pistons, IB cams, RLZ headwork, etc) and drop it in the CRX. I was going to put this blower on the K and put it in my track car (EG hatch) before Charles at Magnum Powers said that he could make it turn CCW, but there's no sense in chucking my current B-series setup if I can use the blower on it. To use it on the K I'd have wanted to get it sleeved, the rod journals widened, custom rods, etc. It's much easier to just put it on the B and build the K for NA since the B-motor is already biult to handle it. Plus I really want to put a 275 WHP K-motor in a CRX, my brother has a 200 WHP B18 in his CRX and it is unbelievably quick.

Re: (SilentEdge)
Not much to report, my spring-loaded tensioner came in today from Charles, it's a modified Ford Lightning unit and stiff enough to keep the belt planted for 500 WHP.
My motor is still at RLZ (although I think that the machining is done), so I dug out an old B16 I've been meaning to build and started assembling it so I have something to use to get the mounting plate right. I had to run out yesterday and get some bearings, the ones I had here were too thick, but now I've got those sitting on the kitchen table. I also ordered a big sheet of .5" 6061 because I was running low on large pieces, it should be here by the weekend.
I've been really busy studying for a certification exam that I have to pass every two years, but I passed it this morning, so I should have some time to get everything together now. After I get back from Florida and DC this week I think that I'll be able to finish getting the B16 together and get the mounting plate fabricated. Then I just have to get Howard at RLZ to finish assembling my motor and I can put it all in the car. I think my family has something planned for my birthday this weekend too, so that will probably eat a day. I told them I just wanted a new mouthpiece for my trumpet, but I think they are planning a day of karting or something for me.
In a perfect world I'll get the mounting plate and tensioner assembly done this weekend, then get the motor next week and put it all together next weekend.
I also still have to get the SC flanges hydro-cut and some sheet metal manifolds welded to them, but that just takes a day or two.

Hey, more than anything, congratulations on passing that test!
I'm not going to lie, when someone says $1700 for 500hp, and it will be almost as throttle-quick as an NA 500 hp motor, ears perk up and people listen in. Take care of what you need to and we will still be here after all is done waiting to hear what you've done for the supercharger.
What certification test was it?

Yeah, it's a bitch to pass that lab though, my hair went gray from the stress of the two-day lab test.
Get that CCVP, I really need to start studying voice. I mostly do core routing/switching/security, but I see so many cool (and high $) voice opportunities in the market that I'll probably start on some voice certs soon. A guy that I know who's a CCIE Voice just got an amazing job at Cisco, making crazy $ and even more in stock distributions.

Re: (rmcdaniels)
i was offerred a job at any of the 3 TAC locations as a CSE (near dallas i think richardson,Texas; San Jose, CA; or RTP, NC). im divorced with 3 kids and i just wont see myself relocating and flying all the time to see them. i didnt take it.
and yes, it paid ridiculously well. about 50k more than what i make now WITH options.
for cisco engineers!!

Re: (street dream gsr)
Yeah, they offered me a job, but I'd have to relocate to the DC area for it, and it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. RTP is about 8 minutes from my house, but they won't let me work out of there as my experience is mostly with federal contracts, so they want me out of their Herndon office. If I got trained up in voice I'd have a lot more options; voice is just a good place to be right now.

Re: (rmcdaniels)
i think RTP is freaking gorgous. the campus has like its own zip code and free condiments/snacks/drinks for all cisco associates. i've been there twice for training and a presentation and that site is amazing. they also told me the san jose office is even more impressive.
