i had an extreme pp with a unsprung 6 puck about 3 years ago. i never had a problem with it, an neither did the 3 cars that my buddies had them in (all turbo cars btw) i wouldnt recomend it if you arent putting decent power out..it will only hurt the trans.

Here is what ACTman said when I asked:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> I think you are on the right track. The street setup will not hold 500hp but then again the 6 puck won't be so nice on the street. It is not the clutch that is hard on transmissions, it is the driver who cannot resist the urge to get rubber in forth with his race clutch. You could always swap out the disc later as well, although the street disc is quite a bit more expensive than the race disc.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I emailed act and this is what they said:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">For any pucked clutch it is always recommended that it not be used on
the street. The problem is that the high friction coefficiency of the puck
style disc tends to bite into the pressure plate and flywheel surfaces, this
causes the gear changes to have to be more percise because there is
less room for error, if its not shifted with care the transmission sincros
can go bad causing trans. wear. If its going to be a daily driver always go
with a street disc, one that I would recommend would be kit# AI4-XTSS thats
good for 319ft/lbs of torque.

The last 6 puck ACT clutch I installed was ON/Off .
You may as well take the clutch pedal out and put a button on the floor connected to a soloniod.
The Clutch masters stage 5 is a little more forgiving I have found.

Diddo!
I remember a local shop telling me not to buy a solid hub when I was researching for a clutch. They said it would ruin my tranny, although I have using an unsprung disc for 4 years know, and other than the annoying engagement, it does it's primarey job. Give Clutch Specialties a call, and ask for Bryan. He can answer all your questions, and most setups will run you only $250.00, with throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and alighnment tool. They also make the clutches for such companies as Jackson Racing!
Good Luck!

I run a 6 puck ACT on my Camry and a 3 puck ACT on the Civic. No problems with either but the Civic isnt pushing anywhere near the power you are. It did get a lot of daily abuse however with no problems.

Holy jeebus man!!! I want to go with a stage 5. For one, it is soooo much cheaper than a stage 3. Also, I hate slipping clutches. I don't really mind breaking a tranny every once in a while either. It's a wearable part just like the clutch and motor etc, etc. I think you just made my mind up. It's going to be a bit of a bitch anyways with my 7 lb. flywheel to go along with it. I'll get used to it.

I had a friend with an Integra that had some crazy clutch in it. He could tear the tires apart in 5th gear just cruising. Every shift felt like the world was coming to an end. He really beat that car and the tranny outlasted the motor with over 200,000 miles on it. I only threw that statement about the tranny to stop people from saying it will kill my tranny. Everytime I mention getting a stage 5 people tell me I am going to grenade it.

I have an exedy pressure plate with an action unsprung 6 puck disc with my ZC tranny.

I love how it shifts even for daily driving, but my input shaft bearing took a ****. This may or may not have been caused by the clutch though, but the 6puck definetly sends more shock to the tranny.

I love my 6 puck it's fun to drive and holds all my power nicely. But just 2 nights ago I killed my tranny I have had this clutch for 1 1/2 years on a turbo D16y7 with a ex tranny and my diff just died on me. Too much hp, too much traction and no wheel hop "and the car is down for the ten count" Mike
