Default For anybody who runs DSS axels here..

Question:

After you installed your axels, did you get any kind of mild clicking sounds from them when you'd move at a slow pace? I notice that if I'm just rolling slowly (like when parking the car, especially in reverse), I hear this kinda clicking, almost like a binding sound comming from what I *think* is the axels. I mean it could be the brakes too, but it's odd that this is happening right after the new axels went it. Anybody expereince anything similar with DSS Stage 1's?

I have the DSS stage 2 axles... there are no click sounds coming from mine, but my ABS light did put on after the install.

Interestingly enough, I ordered DSS 1's w/o ABS and I still got the ABS sensor rings!

Yeah.. I got the ABS rings on the axles. The ABS light doesn't come on when I start the car every morning only when I drive the car for 5mins and then the ABS light just stays on.

go figure

easy fix for the ABS= take out the light in the cluster

as for the axles...sounds very similar to worn inner u-joints, but very possible it's not either

I have the stage 2 DSS axles and have had them for 18 months. No problems whatsoever.

clicking = CV joints but that's just my 2 cents.

Speaking of this I have a set of DDS axels and I pulled them out of the box this weekend and one of the boots were leaking...it looks like THICK gear oil? what kind of lubricant is used in these? The boot clamps are all tight.. I dont have any ideas why it would be leaking.. I havent put them in the car yet..
