It dampens out oscillations in the crankshaft at high rpm. The oscillations can cause uneven bearing wear, crank flex, etc. The only issue I see with the damper is that it doesnt take into account all the possible oscillations that the engine goes through, so its at most canceling or dampening out a range of oscillations.

but its also s.f.i. approved.

Dee I would look into a fluid damper. Like boosted hybrid stated, it dampens out oscillations in the crankshaft at high rpm which kill engines! You should look into a fluid damper that dampens out at ALL frequencies. Here is a pic...

The N1 motors are not allowed to use NON-oem dampeners. The N1 balancing cost is also way beyond my budjet since every part that can be balanced gets shaved and weighted. All of my OEM crank pullies are showing signs of deterioration and my budget allows for an aftermarket dampener. N1 teams also have an exchange program for their engine. Most teams stock extra engines so when one goes bad they replace it with one from their stock and then send the bad engine back to Toda, Spoon, Honda Twin Cam, Mugen or one of the other makers for exchange.
hahahahaha.. I have 4 engines plus one in the car but most of the 6~10 year old OEM crank pullies are looking mighty nasty!
Somebody needs to setup a FLuidampr GROUPBUY!!

would this be good for h23 alot of them damn red headed step bastard son of a bitch blocks keep spinnin mains. not only mine .... i hear it alot.. btw what kinda rpm is considered high
I could always try the A-Sports N1 single pulley that is not dampened. I would have to get my crank, clutch and pulley balanced together to use this item.
