Been using it on my turbo'd setup. There are no cons unless u flood the chamber with way too much h20. It prevents detonation and cools down cylinder walls. Cools down intake air too.

I think we're going to try water injection for track use.. The aquamist gear is very good but pricey, don't go with a cheap-*** setup, you won't get the atomization you need.

we are using a 50/50 mix of water and methanol. work very well. we normally see intake temps drop to 30-35 deg no matter what the out side temps.

Well...the way I look at it, it is a small price to pay for guaranteed octane. I just don't want to worry about anything. I also heard that WA., OR. gas has constantly changing ethanol levels that will severely affect my tuning. I can get 55 gallon drum of race fuel for abut $180...it should last me a while since it won't be daily driven.

Id agree! Run a 50/50 mix of methanol and water. There is somebody on this board and made like 510whp on 91 with water/methanol. Thats awesome!

Heh.. I pay $4/gallon almost for 91 here in Canada.. so it's not that unaffordable to run race gas all the time.

Water Injection is nifty though - has anyone done a teardown on an engine that has run WI for any length of time?

ya, apparently the carbon sludge build up that 'builds up' in the engine is vaporized all the time by the steam produced in the cylinders....

Wondering more if there's any wear problems on the exhaust valves, or additional wear on the cylinders from that residue not being there.. soot is an effective lubricant .

thats us.. we did some more street tuning and we are now running that boost (25ish) on just pump gas ( the beauty of 7.5:1 compression). we are reconfiguring the methanol system and gona shoot for alot more.
