Anybody here mix in race gas w/ pump gas on a daily basis?
Just curious to see if anybody mixes in say a gallon of C116 with a full tank to bump up the octane a bit if you know you're going to be pushing the car on the street. Just a safe measure if you wanted to run a little more boost or advance the timing a bit.

I usually put in 100 octane about 1-2 times a week. I hate not having it so I run it all the time.

FWIW My last two "fill ups" consisted of $10 of 91 octane and $10 of 100 Octane. We just got a new gas station down the street that has 100 and 104 all the time

I haven't seen anyone run effectively C16 with unleaded fuel. Either run C16 or not. You can mix 101, 103 or whatever unleaded fuel. I wouldn't advise any mixing at all unless its a pure additive. You have to pay to play.

Mix 30% xylene with your 91octane to get 100 octane. you can get it at paint shops.
any validity to that statement?

I don;'t mix intentionally except at the track, but it seems I always have a bit of race gas in my car at ALL TIMES! People riding behind love the sweet smeel of 116 octane.

Well buying race gas is a good alternative for getting more octane rating out of pump gas, but i feel that for the money alcohol injection is far superior. I have been using this on my engines for past two years, first with the spearco injection kit and recently with the aquamist basic kit. It works well, methanol is dirt cheap and gives you approx. 100-105 octane with 91~93 octane gas. The exact octane will depend on your pump gas available and the purity of the methanol that you buy. Stay away from ethanol, doesnt work as well and in most cases is more expensive than methanol. Methanol is available in most paint stores, or chemical companies are denatured alcohol. Check the purity of the contents before purchasing, shoot for 90% and above when buying.
I have heard arguements that the water/alcohol injection doesnt distribute the liquid evenly into the cylinders since its based on the same concept as a "dry" nitrous kit where you inject the water/alcohol into the intake stream 3" before the throttle body. I am building right now for my 2.0 liter block a "wet" system similar to what NOS sells to spray alcohol. This will give even distribution and consistent results. On a built engine you could be boosting track psi levels on the street, for a fraction of the cost of race gas. I currently buy methanol by 10 gallons for 2.00 a gallon, 10 gallons lasts me 100 gallons of gasoline. Fill ups in the alcohol resevior are every tank of gas, fill the car up with gas, fill the alcohol tank up.

My local Texaco has 110 leaded, red colored. Very good stuff, and I just love the smell of it out the exhaust. Even put it in the lawnmower occasionally. I run it all the time in my turbo car.

...They sell street legal 100 and 104. I think it's a bit prices though, the 100 is $3.75/gal and the 104 is more. It will definately come in handy for next race season though
